New York crew rocks Japan inna different stylee.
Earlier this week, hip-hop legend KRS-ONE celebrated his fiftieth birthday. To commemorate the occasion the eagle-eyed folks at Egotrip posted a rip of a rare cassette of KRS and the Boogie Down Productions crew in Japan back in 1990.
Split into two sides, the cassette was apparently handed out to the audience after the show. It features KRS, Willie Dee and the late Ms. Melodie on the mic with Kenny Parker (KRS’s younger brother) at the controls.
The first side sees them chat over reggae riddims while the flip is a more standard 15 minutes of golden era hip-hop, including the obligatory “which side of the crowd is the loudest?” [Via Egotripland]
