Natasha Khan has a new album arriving next month with the help of TOY..
Bat For Lashes, TOY and producer Dan Carey have announced details of their first album together under the Sexwitch moniker, comprising six covers of 1970s psych and folk songs from around the world.
The record was announced after the group’s surprise performance at this weekend’s Green Man Festival in Wales, which Pitchfork’s Laura Snapes described as “the most violent and exhilarating music Khan has ever been part of.”
Released on September 25, Sexwitch is Khan’s first album since 2012’s The Haunted Man, and follows a 2013 collaboration with TOY on a cover of pre-revolution Iranian folk song ‘The Bride’.
You can get a preview of the album with album track ‘Helelyos’, which is streaming at the Bat For Lashes website. The project is also playing at London’s XOYO on September 29 – tickets will be available from August 27. [via Pitchfork]
