Barney Khan is a producer who has gradually made a name for himself in Berlin. With his upcoming EP, Wrath, it’s not hard to hear why. The two track release, due next week on his own Bis Bald imprint, is an extreme exercise in the tension building power of techno. Despite the name, the darker of the two is ‘Dawn’, which uses a Shepard’s Tone to twist like a barber’s pole in an endlessly rising spiral.

The title track finds Khan fighting the hypnotic lull of his looping samples as he constantly adds new shades and textures to the constantly evolving mass from the sluggish drums to the razor sharp synths that twinkle over the top. Listen to both tracks below and look for more from Khan on Bis Bald.
