JME has sampled the Pokémon theme and turned himself into Ash for ‘The Very Best’, a diss track that reminds the young MCs that he was collecting Mew cards when they were still in nappies.

“Don’t try tell me about shinies,” he says, “been there done that bought the T-shirt/ wore it with shorts and dry knees.”

We wouldn’t have thought Pokémon and grime would work together, but it’s one of the most enjoyable combinations of the year. Watch the nostalgia-laden animated video above.
