Unpaid child support sours celebration.
Texas rapper Scarface was in Atlanta last night to receive a lifetime achievement ‘I Am Hip-Hop’ award at the 2015 edition of the BET Hip Hop Awards.
The award recognised the rapper’s contribution to the music over the past three decades. However, within minutes of stepping off stage Scarface was met by officers awaiting to arrest him on unpaid child support charges.
An existing warrant from Texas meant Scarface wasn’t allowed to leave the state. According to photographer Freddy O, Scarface risked it to receive the award. As of sunday morning he was still in Fulton County jail.
