It seems as though Kanye West can find the time to do anything these days, apart from releasing his new album.

Shortly after performing an eighteen-song medley for Barack Obama and his pals at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser, Kanye headed to San Francisco to try out for the latest series of American Idol.

Idol judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr. and Keith Urban seemed surprised by Mr. West’s visit. He performed a cappella rendition of Late Registration single ‘Gold Digger’, which contains a lyric that references J. Lo’s behind. It seems as though the judges were impressed by his impromptu performance—Kanye is photographed in one picture holding a ‘Golden Ticket’ to Hollywood.
