This is an important year for fans of Robert Zemeckis’ classic Back To The Future.
Most importantly, we reached Part II‘s distant future of 2015 and still don’t have hover-boards. It’s also the 30th anniversary of the original film which has led to a lot of celebrating. With the current popularity of vinyl (the films couldn’t have predicted that!) a soundtrack reissue was inevitable, but that hasn’t stopped Mondo from doing it better than we could have imagined.
The company won’t release the records until early next year, but today they’ve detailed the two ways they’ll honor Alan Silvestri’s classic soundtracks. Each film will receive individual 2xLP releases with artwork by Matt Taylor as well as a 6xLP boxset with artwork by DKNG Studios and liner notes from co-screenwriter Bob Gale. Take a look at the artwork below and revisit the film’s iconic main theme.
