Even at 86-years-old Ennio Morricone is busy this year.

Only a few months after announcing his score for Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful 8, the composer will link up with a director who is almost as big of a legend as he is.

Morricone will provide the score for Terrence Malick’s long awaited documentary Voyage Of Time which has been described as “a celebration of the Earth, displaying the whole of time, from the birth of the universe to its final collapse”. The pairing makes sense considering Morricone scored the director’s 1978 classic Days of Heaven making it the first time they’ve worked together in nearly 40 years. The film will be released in two versions — as a 40-minute short film in IMAX narrated by Brad Pitt and as a significantly longer feature length narrated by Cate Blanchett.

Voyage Of Time currently has no release date, but the film (like most Malick projects) has been in the works for years. (via IndieWire)
