A saga as long as BoRap.

The planned biopic about Queen frontman Freddie Mercury has been adrift for almost two years following Sacha Baron Cohen’s exit over a dispute with band members, but the long-gestating movie is reportedly back on track now that Sony has brought on Anthony McCarten to pen the script.

McCarten, who’s fresh from his Oscar-nominated screenplay for Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything, takes over writing duties from Peter Morgan. Deadline reports that producers are considering the title Bohemian Rhapsody, which seems somehow inevitable, doesn’t it?

Ben Whishaw, the British actor who plays Bond’s gadget guru Q and starred in BBC’s The Hour, is still eyed to star in the revived project after confirming his involvement back in 2013. It’s all under wraps still, however, with Whishaw reportedly still in talks over the role.
