Dark clouds are gathering over Kirkgate.
Yorkshire’s Golden Cabinet team continue to bring the techno battering ram to the underserved corners of the North this weekend, capping a year that’s seen the likes of Objekt, Powell and Samuel Kerridge wreaking noisy havoc at the tiny Kirkgate Centre in Shipley.
Heading to the intimate venue on Saturday, December 5, are Downwards duo OAKE, flying over from Berlin for their second ever UK gig to showcase their gloomy post-industrial wares. Support comes from Leeds’ Chrononautz, who’ll be peddling their visceral live hardware set following the release of their Noments EP earlier this year – find out more about that in our interview.
Support on the night comes from SMUT, the improvised noise project of multi-instrumentalist Lucy Johnson, and Norman Records expert DJ Cataclyst.
Also: Trainer Trouble will be hosting another late-night after-party at Merchant Quays featuring FLAMEGRILLER and DJs from Golden Cabinet, No Hands, Deep Sounds, Vybist and more keeping the action going until 4am.
Grab tickets from Golden Cabinet’s web store and keep an eye out for updates on Facebook. Golden Cabinet’s 2016 onslaught begins on February 6.
