The eight-track triple LP is Hall’s first album since 2013.

Detroit producer Kyle Hall has announced details of his second album, set for release later this month.

As Juno Plus reports, the eight-track From Joy will arrive on triple vinyl through his Wild Oats label. According to the label, the tracks were all produced prior to 2010, and the title is a reference to Joy Street on Detroit’s west side, the location of his father’s basement where the tracks were recorded.

“The title is derived from the idea of finding a way to live life in a state of presence; detaching oneself from the mental, self imposed narratives echoed by society’s traditions and judgements,” the label explains. “We as people tend to be at our most honest and present in our childhood, so in some ways From Joy serves as a mechanism and reminder to return to one’s youthful energetic state.”

The album is Hall’s first since 2013’s The Boat Party, though he’s been a firm part of Detroit’s techno underground since he appeared in 2007 with a single on Omar-S’ FXHE label. It’s released in late December – until then you can hear clips at the Wild Oats website.
