Update: Chris Brown intends to file a defamation suit against his accuser, reports TMZ.

Sources told the gossip site that Brown will be filing a lawsuit against Liziane Gutierrez, the woman who claims he punched her in the eye at a Las Vegas hotel.

Brown responded with a weird video message and an Instagram threatening legal action against Gutierrez. “I’m going to be hella rich after all the lawsuits I file from these crazy individuals who keep lying on my name. Happy NEW YEAR! Time for some of us to grow the fuck up,” the singer wrote.

Chris Brown is reportedly under investigation for battery after punching a woman in the face in Las Vegas.

According to TMZ, the woman was invited to a private party hosting at Brown’s suite at the Palms Hotel. After she took a photo of Brown with her cell phone, the singer is reported to have punched her in the right eye.

As well as battery, Brown is also under investigation for misdemeanour theft (for the phone.) A rep for Brown has told TMZ that the woman’s claims are “undeniably untrue.” A photo of the alleged injury can be seen below.

In December 2014, Brown was banned from performing in Australia based on his history of domestic violence.
