Looks like Lemmy’s still marking his territory, even from beyond the grave.

The late, great Motörhead frontman will soon be propping up the bar of his favourite LA drinking den – the Rainbow Bar & Grill on West Hollywood’s Sunset Strip – for all eternity, via a life-sized bronze statue commissioned by fans and crafted by LA artist Travis Moore.

A crowdfunding campaign has already raised nearly $16,000 for the project.

In other Lemmy news, Download Festival has renamed a stage in tribute to the hard living firebrand, with Iron Maiden, Rammstein and Black Sabbath already lined up to play this year. Motorhead were due to perform at Download 2016 but sadly had to pull out following Lemmy’s death from cancer on December 28.

Last month Motörhead fan John Wright set up a petition to have newly-discovered chemical element Ununoctium 118 named Lemmium after his hero. The petition currently has over 15,000 supporters.
