Kanye West may have decided that The Life of Pablo will only be exclusively available for stream via Tidal, but it doesn’t mean people aren’t downloading it. According to a report from TorrentFreak, the album has been pirated an estimated 500,000 times via BitTorrent. It is also currently in the top 10 on popular torrent site The Pirate Bay.
Kanye has yet to make mention of the piracy, but it doesn’t seem to necessarily be an issue for the often-reviled Tidal, which is currently topping the app charts due to T.L.O.P.’s exclusivity.
The RIAA is intrepidly working to take down the copyright-infringing material, issuing DMCAs to Google to remove illegal downloads from the web.
