Charli XCX announces SOPHIE-produced Vroom Vroom EP, shares first track

A shiny pop trip.

Charli XCX has announced details of her new SOPHIE-produced Vroom Vroom EP and unveiled the title track.

Out February 26, the four-track EP also features PC Music’s Hannah Diamond and marks the debut release for Charli’s new “experimental pop label” Vroom Vroom Recordings, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records UK which she says will “combine my love for bubblegum pop with mystery and darkness.”

The label has already put out tracks by London-based electro-poppers RIVRS and alt-folkster CuckooLander.

Charli continues: “I’ve worked with SOPHIE on the new EP and what we create together speaks for itself. Sometimes we get aggressive, sometimes we get beautiful; he pushes me and I push him. I’m making beautiful party songs right now and this is just the start.”

Vroom Vroom follows her 2014 full-length Sucker.
