The psych-folk figurehead unveils new song ‘The Dancer’.
Linda Perhacs has announced her third album after returning to music in 2014 with The Soul of All Natural Things.
Co-produced by Wilco’s Pat Sansone and Fernando Perdomo, the album will feature appearances from Perhacs acolytes Julia Holter, Devendra Banhart and others, and is being funded on Kickstarter. Supporters’ rewards include a download of the first single, ‘The Dancer’ (stream it below), autographed lyrics, an autographed guitar and a Skype chat with Perhacs (handy if you’re looking for some personal, spiritual or oral evaluation, as she’s also a healer and dental hygienist).
Perhacs’ second album, The Soul of All Natural Things, appeared a full 44 years after her 1970 debut Parallelograms, which had become an ur-text for the ‘00s generation of freak-folkers. The Topanga folkie also appears on the forthcoming album from UK electronic artist Mark Pritchard.
