Vince Staples made numerous references to Spotify’s controversial royalty payments to artists during his headline show at Spotify House yesterday (March 15) at SXSW.

According to the Austin-American Statesman, Staples said: “Shoutout to Spotify. Thank you for giving me this check to make up for what you’ve done to me and all my musical friends,” later instructing fans to “listen to your favorite album 1,000, 2,000 times so everybody can get an album sale.”

In January, the streaming giant was hit with their second class action lawsuit in two weeks.
