The streaming service remains clear of its rival, Apple Music.
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek has announced that the streaming service has reached a total of 30m paid subscribers.
Revealing the figure via Twitter, Ek also referenced President Obama’s visit to Cuba saying that none of the subscribers were in Cuba “yet.” Spotify’s last announced subscriber figure was 20m back in June 2015.
The figures mean that Spotify is still clear of Apple Music, but the rival streaming service is gaining ground rapidly. Last month it was reported that the upstart service had over 11m paid subscribers.
