Because bad bagels hurt America.
A new Jewish deli opened in Brooklyn yesterday. It’s called Frankel’s and it was founded by brothers Zach and Alex Frankel, the latter a member of Holy Ghost!, a synth-duo signed to DFA Records. And that’s not the end of the music connection: NYC rap mainstay El-P and Despot are also investors.
The new deli was announced by The New York Times earlier this week, with the brothers explaining that they’re “paying homage to Barney Greengrass, Murray’s and Russ & Daughters” in both the food on offer and the decor.
Frankel’s is located at 631 Manhattan Ave in Greenpoint and was, according to social media, packed throughout its opening day. Below are a selection of photos and tweets from the musicians involved.
