Second time lucky?
Rihanna will be the subject of a documentary by Peter Berg, which Deadline reports is an “unfiltered look into Rihanna’s life” inspired by the 1967 Bob Dylan feature Dont Look Back.
The film will be the second time Rihanna has worked with Berg, who gave the artist a major film role in the critically maligned movie Battleship. Based on the tabletop game of the same name, the movie currently holds a 34% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Directed by American documentary maker D.A. Pennebaker, Dont Look Back followed Dylan as he embarked on his 1965 concert tour of England, and is widely held to be one of the best documentary films of all time. According to Berg’s production company Film 45, his Rihanna doc will follow the singer as she “navigates life as an artist, businesswoman, and humanitarian, while contending with the inherent pressure of artistic freedom.”
Rihanna’s last appearance on screen was in the NSFW ‘Kiss it Better’ video.
