Find out the story of Bloc 2016’s unlikely star.
The BBC has released a mini-doc following snooker champion Steve Davis and noted fan of obscure prog and other vinyl oddities as he prepared for his live DJ debut at this year’s Bloc Weekender.
The star was invited to play the festival on the strength of the show he’s held down on Phoenix FM since 2007, which, in his words, was “ignored by everybody on the internet and everybody in the local area too” until recently.
Snookerstar DJ follows Davis from his slot on the Brentwood radio station to his Bloc gig, featuring a testimonial from fellow snooker star Ronnie O’Sullivan and one-to-one performance advice from his “electronic idol” Holly Herndon.
Watch it on the BBC iPlayer, and check out more of what Steve got up to in our photo story of the festival.
