The first act for this year’s festival has been announced.
The annual Amsterdam Dance Event has announced its opening act for 2016, a collaboration between Innervisions producer Henrik Schwarz and Dutch ensemble Metropole Orkest.
Taking place at Amsterdam’s Melkweg on October 19, the orchestra’s collaboration with Schwarz follows similar team-ups with Junkie XL, Basement Jaxx and Squarepusher and features an hour of music composed by the producer.
The one-off collaboration, called ‘Scripted Orkestra’, follows Schwarz’s recent album Instruments, which saw him create classical arrangements of some of his biggest tracks.
ADE 2016 takes place from October 19 to October 23. The rest of the line-up has yet to be announced, but you can expect most of dance music’s biggest and brightest to appear at some point – last year’s event featured over 2,200 acts.
Tickets for the festival go on sale on April 23 – for more information visit the ADE website.
