“Of course all of us remember ‘Purple Haze’ and what that did for the world of music”.

The above statement, uttered by CNN news anchor Wolf Blitzer today, is not wrong, but it is deeply embarrassing considering the context. In a segment remembering Prince in the wake of his death, Blitzer confused the artist’s iconic classic ‘Purple Rain’ with Jimi Hendrix’s equally defining ‘Purple Haze’.

At least that’s what we’re guessing. Who knows, maybe Wolf is a big Cam’ron fan or he’s just still a little foggy from 4/20 yesterday.
