It’s finally here.
After months of anticipation Drake’s new album Views (formerly Views From The 6) is now here. Listen to it here on Apple Music or buy on iTunes.
The album was released exclusively on iTunes after premiering on Beats 1 Radio as part of the star’s OVOSound Radio Show. As teased in the production credits released shortly before the premiere, the album includes collaborations with Rihanna, Future, Kanye West, Popcaan and more. Kanye and Jay Z’s guest verses on the previously released ‘Pop Style’ however have been omitted from the album version of the song.
“Jay didn’t really do a verse,” Drake explained to Zane Lowe in a Beats 1 interview around the album release. “Kanye just told me that Jay had done his first couple of lines. It didn’t play out the way I would have wanted it to.”
“This album is probably my highest level of vocal performance,” he added, explaining that he was listening to Stevie Wonder’s ‘All I Do’ and Alabama Shakes’ ‘Gimme All Your Love’ during its making. “The album is based around the change of the seasons in our city. It starts out in the wintertime… That was what I used to tie it all together.”
Drake also teased a future release with Kanye (” we were supposed to do a mixtape together… Maybe we’ll get that done”), confirmed his involvement in a new series of UK TV drama Top Boy and explained his current relationship with Nicki Minaj, after beefing with her boyfriend Meek Mill. “I don’t really talk to Nicki. I understand what love is, and I understand her situation. She dealt with me how I expected her to, with class.”
