Chicago rapper drops a hint that we could be getting some new music soon.
Chance The Rapper uploaded an image to his Instagram account yesterday that looks like it could be the cover for his next album.
The image is a painting of Chance wearing a baseball cap with the number 3 across it. It came with the URL chanceraps.com, where you can purchase 10 posters of the image for $20, and the hashtag #chance3.
There are no clear indications that this could be the cover for Chance’s next album though the Parental Advisory sticker in the bottom right is an obvious hint that the image could be tied to some sort of release. [Via NME]
Chance The Rapper’s last solo album was 2013’s Acid Rap, a breakthrough release that thrust the young Chicago rapper into public consciousness. He followed this up with Surf in 2015, an album by the band Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment of which he is a member. Elsewhere, Chance has featured on Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo and collaborated with Skrillex, Jeremih, and Lil B.
In the past years, Chance has also been an active voice for the Chicago community by taking part in protests, raising money for homeless people, and denouncing what he views as exploitation of his city’s plight. At the end of 2015, Chicago Magazine recognised Chance as the Chicagoan of the year.
