Canadian star returns to the show as host and musical guest.
High off the success of his latest album, VIEWS, which broke the records for most album streams in a single week and most concurrent tracks on the Billboard Hot 100, Drake indulged in a victory lap as host and musical guest of the latest episode of Saturday Night Live.
It all began with the opening monologue, in which Drake addressed his status as living meme generator – in the process creating a few more for good measure – and did a bizarre Rihanna impression. You can watch that below.
Comedian Jay Pharoah performed a sketch about a secret meeting of rappers, running down impressions of Ja Z, Lil’ Wayne, 50 Cent and more, before Drake rolls in to confront him about his own impersonation.
Drake also performed the UK Funky-sampling ‘One Dance’ and ‘Hype’ from VIEWS.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that ‘One Dance’ gave Drake his first solo number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 after six years of waiting.
