The pair follow through on a promise made years ago.
Interpol frontman Paul Banks and RZA have finally revealed their collaborative project after the Wu-Tang founder first announced it in 2013. Named Banks and Steelz, the project will debut its first song tomorrow on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show.
RZA originally discussed the project in an interview with Rolling Stone.
“My manager came to me and said, ‘Who do you want to do an album with?’ I said, ‘Well, Paul just has an energy about him. I think if we put our sandwich together it will be great,” he said, describing their work as “very, very different than what I do, but very unique and very peculiar”.
The project already has installations set up in Los Angeles and New York (which you can find here and here) and appear to be screening a music video from the project.
