Seemingly just a victim, Troy Ave now has a new role in last night’s altercation.
Earlier today we reported that Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave was shot in the leg at a T.I. concert last night and that his bodyguard, Banga, had been killed (two others were also injured via gunfire). The New York Daily News now reports that Troy Ave, né Roland Collins, has been arrested for the shooting at NYU Langone Medical Center, where he was receiving treatment.
Surveillance footage from the Manhattan venue Irving Plaza now shows that it was Collins who set off the shots and caught himself in the line of fire. It’s been reported that he has been charged with reckless endangerment and illegal weapons possession. Sources say he may also face murder chargers after a ballistics test.
It is alleged that Collins went on this rampage because of a feud with Maino, who was opening the show.
