The R&B superstar returns with not one but two new singles.
It’s hard to believe that the last Usher album appeared four years ago, but it looks like the drought is about to end. The world-class crooner has shared brand new track ‘No Limit’, providing you have Tidal, and it boasts a feature appearance from the hardest working man in rap, Young Thug.
The track is a solid reminder of why Usher is still at the top of his game, and with rubbery ad libs and a surprisingly coherent verse from Thugger, the slew of Master P references (No Limit, geddit?) come together to form one of his most engaging singles in ages.
Tomorrow Usher will release another new single, ‘Crash’, and this one won’t be limited to Tidal – it’ll be available through all digital providers immediately.
Update: ‘Crash’ is now available to stream below.
If you’ve not got Tidal, don’t worry, ‘No Limit’ will available to the rest of on Monday, June 13.
Whether these two tracks are part of Usher’s long-touted eighth studio album – initially titled UR but now known as Flawed – remains to be seen. The record was initially set for April but now has no release date – so we have to wonder whether Usher will be following Beyoncé, James Blake and Radiohead and dropping the album completely unannounced.
