“Adele has a great voice and it brings pleasure to millions.”
David Bowie producer Tony Visconti has apologised to Adele after claiming that her “great voice” could have been “manipulated” by computers.
In a statement to Billboard published yesterday (June 12), Visconti said he was “sorry with regards to what’s being played on radio,” saying his statement was “misconstrued”.
“If Adele has taken my comments as offensive that was certainly not my intent,” he wrote, before adding, “Adele has a great voice and it brings pleasure to millions.”
The 72-year-old had previously told the Daily Star: “We know Adele has a great voice but it’s even questionable if that is actually her voice or how much has been manipulated. We don’t know.”
Adele hit back at a recent Paris show, telling the crowd: “Some dickhead tried to say that my voice was not me on record. Dude, suck my dick.”
Visconti has meanwhile promised that more “great” unreleased Bowie music is on the way, including five songs recorded for a potential follow-up to his final album Blackstar.
