Radiohead in going against the grain shocker.
Radiohead handed out Wi-Fi codes encouraging concert-goers to record Periscope streams of their performance at Iceland’s Secret Solstice festival last weekend.
Counter to the likes of Jack White, Björk and other artists who have enforced phone bans at their shows, attendees were encouraged to film the gig with the livestreaming app so it could be instantly shared and viewed by fans around the world.
Attendees at the show could obtain codes by direct messaging a Twitter account, with the codes also shared on Radiohead’s W.A.S.T.E. Central site.
A number of the Periscope streams are still active – view some of them below.
The Oxford band marked the release of their sublime new album, A Moon Shaped Pool, last Friday with a worldwide streaming event.
