The rapper and producer says the video game-focused release will be one of his best albums.
Fresh off his work in Banks And Steelz, RZA has announced an even more unexpected partnership: Atari. The Wu-Tang founder will team with the video game pioneer for a new album that will be inspired by many of company’s titles, according to the The Hollywood Reporter.
“I’m so excited to work on these iconic games to deliver what I believe will be one of my best albums,” RZA said in a statement promising he would bring some friends along to contribute alongside him.
“RZA is a multi-talented artist and soundtrack virtuoso and we cannot wait to hear the new tracks he creates based on Atari’s iconic video game sounds and music,” said Atari CEO Fred Chesnais, who will also serve as an executive producer on the album.
No word yet when it will be out, but don’t worry about this holding up a potential Wu-Tang album, Ghost has that covered.
Maybe Atari can return the favor and give us a Bobby Digital videogame?
