Knight later collapsed in jail with a blood clot in his lung.
Suge Knight has filed a lawsuit against Chris Brown in connection with a 2014 shooting that left the Death Row Records co-founder with seven gunshot wounds, reports Billboard.
Knight – who is currently awaiting trial for murder and attempted murder following a fatal hit-and-run – alleges Brown, who was hosting a party at an LA club, failed to provide adequate security before the shooting on August 23.
The former rap mogul was struck multiple times in the abdomen, chest and left forearm. No arrests were made at the time.
Three months after he was shot, Knight collapsed with a blood clot in in his lung in a jail cell in Las Vegas, where he was being held in connection with a robbery charge. His lawyers told NBC News that the shooting led to his collapse.
Knight is seeking recovery of past and future medical expenses and unspecified special and general damages above $25,000.
The lawsuit is more bad news for Brown, whose tour manager abruptly quit mid-way through his European tour after the singer allegedly threatened her.
