The paperwork is in.

Pulse has taken the first steps to build a memorial in honor of the 49 victims killed in the shooting there in June, The Orlando Sentinel reports.

Club owner Barbara Poma expressed her desire to build a memorial only days after the shooting and now has filed the required paperwork with the state of Florida. Poma recently launched OnePulse Foundation, a non-profit with the express purpose of supporting victims and families while “conceiving, funding and aiding in the construction of a permanent memorial on the existing Pulse site.” Now the company will make that a reality.

There is no date yet for when the memorial will be finished or when (or if) Pulse will reopen. Poma has previously expressed her desire to get the club running again.
