Two weeks of celebrations.
US songwriter Angel Olsen will perform live with post-punk icons The Raincoats as part of Rough Trade’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
The gig takes place at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on November 3 and is part of a series of live events pairing new artists with older bands.
Before that, on October 22 at London’s Barbican Hall, ‘A Night of Collaborations’ will see Bristol post-punk legends The Pop Group perform with current US post-punk band Protomartyr, while Scritti Politti’s Green Gartside will team up with Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor.
On the same night, Reykjavík-based singer-songwriter John Grant will join forces with Wrangler, a newly formed outfit featuring Cabaret Voltaire founder Stephen Mallinder, Tunng’s Phil Winter and Benge of John Foxx & The Maths. There will also be spoken word and pop-up performances.
Tickets for all shows will be available from Dice this Friday (August 5).
