Says TDE boss “can release my album if he ever feels like it.”
After many delays, Top Dawg Entertainment’s sole R&B artist SZA released a cryptic now-deleted tweet saying “I quit” and expressing frustration with TDE boss Terrence “Punch” Henderson delaying her new album A.
“I actually quit. [Terrence “Punch” Henderson] can release my album if he ever feels like it . Y’all be blessed,” she wrote on Twitter.
The album, which was to follow her TDE debut Z, was expected earlier this year (in the summer she hinted in an interview). In a teaser posted by Hendersen this March, SZA’s album was shown in a list of 2016 releases that included Schoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, Isaiah Rashad, artists who have since released albums this year. Though he did not respond directly to the news, Hendersen alluded to it with a cryptic tweet of his own.
Take a look at the exchange below and revisit our review of SZA’s sole TDE release.
