Valere Aude is the first album from Tin Man and Gunnar Haslam’s collaborative project.

Acid-loving producer Tin Man and L.I.E.S. regular Gunnar Haslam are to release their debut album as Romans on The Bunker NY’s label in December.

The duo have been making techno as Romans since 2014, bringing together Tin Man’s deep 303-led sound and Haslam’s exploratory modular textures. According to the label, Valere Aude is “an acid-etched trip to the outer reaches of the mind.”

“I just really like listening to albums,” Haslam says in a press release of their decision to create an LP. “I think the popular notion of techno not lending itself to the album format is just a myth.”

According to Tin Man (aka Johannes Auvinen), the album has a conceptual angle, in which the album “connects to a fantastic fictional history in which we are imagining attitudes lost to the waters of time.” Auvinen says. According to Haslam, the track titles “allude to geographic designations” in the Roman Empire.

The 12-track album is released on December 2 on the label arm of New York techno party The Bunker NY. It’s the second album on the label following 2014’s The Periodic Table, a live LP from Move D and Jonah Sharp’s Reaganz project.
