The festival readies a wide range of different shows for its fifth anniversary.
Illuminations festival begins tonight with ‘Sirens,’ a new performance by The Bug at London’s Autumn Street Studios. Inspired by the birth of the producer’s son, the show features special guests and is described as blurring the line between live show and installation.
Illuminations will feature many other different acts in its two week run including Jonny Greenwood and Shye Ben Tzur performing music with the Indian ensemble The Rajasthan Express from their recent film Junun.
Forest Swords will perform in the Museum of London for Museum Of The Lost Sounds, a show featuring School Of Noise, Cosmo Sheldrake, Yuri Suzuki and more. The festival will also feature Blackout a night of DJing in pitch black darkness, with artists only revealed on the night of.
Ukrainian piano virtuoso Lubomyr Melnyk will perform later at The Barbican on a double bill with Mexican electronic artist Murcof collaborating with Vanessa Wagner. Pantha Du Prince will bring his latest album The Triad to life for the festival’s closing night on November 11 which also features The Field and Gazelle Twin.
