The Sega Genesis officially returns with new model

A different kind of reissue.

For fans of the 16-bit era and Sega kids of all ages, the beloved Genesis (or Mega Drive outside of North America) has returned with a Sega-approved new model.

The new console will be sold in Brazil and has been made available for pre-order on the site Tectoy, as The Daily Dot points out.

While the console is not manufactured by Sega, the new model was made with the company’s blessing and bears their official logo. The model is designed to be an exact replica of the console and works with European-compatible cartridges, with one small addition: an SD card slot designed for emulation.

Taking advantage of the updated technology, this model comes with an SD card already loaded with 22 games including classics such as Sonic 3, Golden Axe and Shinobi 3.
