One individual will be selected to guest mix on the Smirnoff x Radar Radio show.
Radar Radio is offering a free one-day masterclass for budding DJs, with mentors including station founder Ollie Ashley, radio mainstays Hipsters Don’t Dance and BBC AZN Network. Attendees will get the chance to record a mix on the day, and the best of these will be played on an upcoming Radar show.
Station founder Ollie Ashley explains that they are putting on the workshop, in collaboration with Smirnoff and taking place on Saturday (December 3) at Radar Radio’s HQ, “to give young talent the chance to add another string to their bow.”
Ashley will also be chairing an industry advice session with BBC 1xtra’s Monki, while the academy will be split into three groups according to different mixing styles: USB/Rekordbox, taught by Manara and 2SHIN of BBC AZN NETWORK; Serato/vinyl, taught by Hipsters Don’t Dance; and controller, taught by Jetsss. Sign up on the Radar Radio Academy website.
This is the third in the ongoing Radar Radio Academy series – previous masterclasses include E.M.M.A’s music production workshop for girls and a writer’s workshop with Dazed.
