Finders Keepers is releasing a pair of highly sought-after Moomins soundtrack releases in time for Christmas. Ahead of the full release of “synth-driven fuzzy felt festive folklore music” early next year, the label is preparing a special ‘Silent Night’ 7″ and limited edition versions of the soundtrack, made by Leeds-based post-punk duo Graeme Miller & Steve Shill.
As ever, Finders Keepers’ product descriptions tell the story far better than anyone else could:
“Since the first time the homemade Wasp synth and ocarina driven theme tune and eerie incidental themes first made their soft landings on the UK Children’s ITV, nostalgia nuts, acid folk fans and electro acoustic aficionados have been united by a fruitless yearning for those misplaced melodies and that last comforting synth note that resolved each episode of what was perhaps the most freakish Fuzzy-Felt five minutes to flicker onto our small screens during the 80′s wonder years.”
The full soundtrack is being made available in two strictly limited editions, packaged in embossed, pasted and stitched velveteen sleeves available in two colour variations (50 x Snorkmaiden cream and pink or 50 x Hemulen grey and blue), with the Hemulen edition already sold out at time of publication. Find out more here.
The ‘Silent Night’ 7″ will also be released in a stitched felt sleeve. Get it here and be quick.
