The hip-hop artist is recovering in hospital after the attack.
Hip-hop artist Troy Ave was shot twice while on his way to meet his family for Christmas in Brooklyn, according to a statement given by his attorney to ABC7 NY.
The rapper, whose real name is Roland Collins, was shot twice in East Flatbush on Sunday (December 25) at around 5pm. According to his attorney, a man wearing a hoodie walked up to the driver’s side window of his car and fired twice, grazing his head and hitting his arm.
Collins is currently recovering in Brookdale Hospital, where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. 50 Cent pictured himself visiting the rapper in the hospital.
Collins is currently out on $500,000 bail, after being formally indicted for attempted murder following an incident at a T.I. concert that resulted in the death of his bodyguard Ronald McPhatter.
Collins himself was shot in the leg during the incident, and has maintained his innocence. In August, the rapper sued Irving Plaza and its operator Live Nation, claiming lax security measures put him and others in danger. [via Pitchfork]
