Even purveyors of the fine arts know it’s time to get weird.

Baltimore oddball Dan Deacon has announced that music from his 2012 album America will accompany an upcoming new show from the iconic New York City Ballet. The show, called The Times are Racing, was choreographed by Justin Peck, one of the most in-demand choreographers in ballet and will feature dancers in sneakers, not pointe shoes.

It will premiere at Lincoln Center on January 26. Additional performances will follow on January 28, February 1, February 2, February 4, May 5 and May 9. More information here.
