Jesse Kanda, an artist who has helped define the visual aesthetic of artists such as Arca and FKA twigs, has moved into music making with Heart, his debut EP on Hyperdub.

The five-track release, credited to doon kanda, comprises 13 minutes of material that brings to mind the bleary discomfort of Arca while maintaining a glassy prettiness all its own.

The release is available today digitally, with a vinyl release coming February 24. In an ironic twist for the artist who has designed some of the most memorable album covers of recent years, Heart’s artwork simply features the tracklist and title scrawled in ink.
