Body Four comes less than a year after his last album, Plum.
John Roberts’ next album lands on March 24 under a new alias, Body Four.
According to a press release, Body Four was written and produced by Roberts for cello, sequencer and two voices, and is described as a “streaming internal dialogue between coalescing identities, rendered as an acidulated afterimage.”
Body Four follows last year’s Plum album, a collection of Sakamoto-esque electronics. On the basis of album track ‘XIII’ (streaming below), Body Four will explore even more avant-garde territory.
The 14-track album will be released on Roberts’ own Brunette Editions label, which he launched in 2015 after making his name with Glass Eights and Fences on Hamburg’s Dial Records.
