Described as a “Romeo and Juliet style musical”.

A musical film inspired by Pharrell Williams is in the works at Fox Studios, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

The studio won Williams’ pitch recently for Atlantis, a musical described as “a Romeo and Juliet style story inspired by his childhood in Virginia Beach.” Tony Award-winning Broadway director Michael Mayer is attached to direct.

Atlantis will be Williams’ second production with Fox Studios. Their first film together, Hidden Figures, was a massive hit and received three Oscar nominations.
