The band officially announced the album via Twitter this morning.
Slowdive made their return to the stage last night (March 27) for an intimate set at Glasgow Art School that included classics like ‘Alison’ and new material.
The shoegaze heroes dropped their first new song in 22 years, ‘Star Roving’, back in January and debuted the track live for the first time last night, along with two other new songs from the forthcoming album – ‘Sugar for the Pill’ and ‘No Longer Making Time’.
The band have been teasing their new LP for months, but this morning announced the album via Twitter, while also sharing the video for ‘Sugar for the Pill’, which you can see below. The self-titled album is out May 5 – see the artwork below.
The tour continues tonight in Liverpool and will take in shows in Bristol, Paris and Berlin, before finishing off with a performance at London’s Field Day festival on June 3.
