Following his appearance on Drake’s More Life, Sampha takes on one of the rapper’s biggest hits.

Sampha has covered Drake’s ‘Controlla’ on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

The singer-songwriter performed the Views album track backed by a string quartet during Clara Amfo’s show earlier today. Watch a clip below and listen back from the 2:14:00 mark here.

Sampha appears on Drake’s recently released playlist More Life and he was also sampled on ‘Too Much’, from the rapper’s 2013 album Nothing Was The Same.

Process, Sampha’s long-awaited debut, came out in February. He is also planning to release a short film tied to the project, directed by Kahlil Joseph – who was behind Beyoncé’s Lemonade visuals – later this month.

Drake, who is currently in the middle of his European tour, cancelled yesterday’s show in Amsterdam at the last minute after falling ill.
