Made using a hyperrealistic mask.
Dutch-Iranian singer Sevdaliza has already made some incredible music videos for her upcoming debut album ISON. Now with the release of new single ‘Hubris’ – which you can check out here – she’s unveiled some equally impressive album art.
The cover depicts a hyperrealistic mask of the singer designed and handmade by sculptor Sarah Sitkin. Sitkin is best known for her surreal sculptures incorporating the human body, including an iPhone case with a human ear attached.
“The idea is based around Sevdaliza being the mother to herself and her past lives. It carries her vulnerability stoically,” the sculptor explained to VICE’s Creators. “Her features distorted, some omitted, some emphasized. A new form is repeated through her 16 children (number of songs) surrounding her.”
