The Tennessee artist debuts on Gobstopper Records with a collection of “voice-led soundsystem experiments”.
Next up on Mr. Mitch’s Gobstopper Records is Morphism, a new EP from Knoxville, Tennessee-based producer Nikki Nair.
Described by the label as “a set of idiosyncratic, voice-led soundsystem experiments”, Morphism sees the producer working with the human voice in unusual ways, twisting chopped up vocal samples into avant-garde club tracks.
Nikki Nair is a core member of the Knoxville collective TEKNOX, and this year has released projects with Scuffed Recordings, Discovery Recordings and Tram Planet Records.
This is the third release from Gobstopper this year, following Mr. Mitch’s “techno dancehall” two-tracker ‘Need More Fashion Friends’/’Shirley Temple’ and BFTT’s excellent Versioning EP.
Morphism arrives on October 11 and is available to pre-order now. Check out the cover art and tracklist below.
